The job that will be ventured into will be sound design. The reasons for this decision will follow in this post, as well as a final skill match, including general skills. Sound design, as already mentioned in its own post, is a relatively general area. It can cover a range of media, such as TV, film, video games and even designing sounds for cars. The area that will be pursued is for sound design in video games, a more interactive media.
One of the main reasons is that video games have been a passion since very young, so it is an area that's already very familiar and interesting to do. Passion and interest in a job is extremely important when applying for places, as showing enthusiasm in a subject is a good sign for an employer. This can be shown in a few ways too. One is that when attending an interview, or writing a cover letter, or even when emailing a CV across to potential employers, is to have a lot of knowledge about the industry in general, both past, present and future news. This looks good as it shows an applicant has taken the initiative to research the job sector, and/or show that the person has a great interest in working for the industry. Most often it will show both, but someone who has never looked into the industry before could potentially research a few days before-hand to find out an abundance of knowledge within the industry. Luckily, most employers can see through this ruse and will filter out these kinds of applications.
